At Diascan Center Ltd, we provide a comprehensive range of advanced medical imaging services under one roof. Our core specialties include CT Scans for detailed internal imaging, Digital X-rays, high-resolution Ultrasound Scans (including pregnancy and abdominal), Mammograms for breast health screening, and ECGs for heart rhythm monitoring. All procedures are conducted by certified professionals using state-of-the-art technology to ensure precision and comfort.
Do I need to prepare specifically for an X-ray?
Generally, no special preparation is required for a standard X-ray. You may be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses, or clothing with metal buttons that could interfere with the image. For specific contrast studies, our team will provide you with detailed instructions beforehand.
How long does a CT Scan take, and is it enclosed like an MRI?
A CT scan is very fast, typically taking only 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Unlike an MRI machine which is a long tunnel, a CT machine is shaped like a large doughnut. You will not be fully enclosed, making it a much more comfortable experience for patients who may feel claustrophobic.
Why do I need to drink water before my pelvic or abdominal ultrasound?
Drinking water fills your bladder, which acts as a “window” for the sound waves to travel through. This pushes the intestines away and allows us to get a much clearer picture of your pelvic organs. For the best results, please finish drinking about 1 hour before your appointment and try not to empty your bladder until after the scan.
Is a mammogram painful?
You may feel some pressure or discomfort for a few seconds as the breast is compressed to get a clear image, but it should not be painful. This compression is crucial for detecting even the smallest abnormalities. If you have sensitive breasts, we recommend scheduling your exam a week after your period when sensitivity is lower.
Will I feel any electric shock during an ECG?
Not at all. An ECG is completely painless and safe. The small sticky patches (electrodes) placed on your chest, arms, and legs only record the natural electrical activity of your heart—they do not send any electricity into your body. The entire test usually takes less than 10 minutes.
